Hi, I’m Heather Fox

I came to psychology via a slightly unconventional path. Before retraining as a psychologist, I spent many years working in media and communications. Over time, I realised I was far more interested in understanding people than marketing to them, so I made the decision to change careers — and I've never looked back.

I've now been working as a registered psychologist for eight years. What continues to inspire me is helping people make sense of the patterns, beliefs and coping strategies that have developed throughout their lives, and supporting them to create meaningful, lasting change.

My interest in this work is both professional and personal. Living with PMDD has given me firsthand insight into the significant impact hormonal and cyclical mental health challenges can have, and how often they are overlooked or misunderstood. My partner has ADHD, which has deepened my understanding of the strengths and challenges neurodiversity can bring to relationships and family life. I also grew up in an environment that wasn't always predictable or secure, which has shaped my compassion for people carrying the effects of difficult early experiences.

Clients often describe me as warm, genuine and easy to talk to. I value creating a space where you feel understood and supported, while also offering gentle challenge when needed. I believe therapy works best when there is both acceptance and growth.

Outside of work, I'm a mum to two young children. Life is wonderfully busy, and these days my favourite hobby is probably getting enough sleep — which I think is a perfectly reasonable aspiration.
